| Holler, I'm officially the big 2-1 babies! | | |
| I had a post written a few days ago and then for whatever reason its not showing up slash I don't know where it went. So I'll do my best to remember everything that I had mentioned from before. I started school this week. Classes are all going well...so far. I'm taking history of early U.S. Civilization, Mass Media Law, and Concepts of New Media. All of them are rather exciting and keep my interest, but I guess they better since they pertain to my concentration. Oh, my Concepts prof is really cute! So I consider that to be an added bonus to the fact that his class sounds so freaking awesome. Unfortunately there is going to be TONS of reading. I'm already trying to read about 160 pages just for Law by tuesday. Luckily most of its kind of a review for me from my other law class that I took last year, so maybe like 40 pages are just a review. Oh and our Huskies are finally a legit football team! I'm so excited, the last few games at Husky Stadium have been worth every dollar. I turn 21 in 11 days!! I cannot wait. Granted my birthday is on a thursday and I have a quiz for a class the next day, I'm still going to at least go out for one drink or take a stop to the liquor and wine store and buy myself some sort of alcoholic beverage to celebrate. My friend turns 21 the following day so we have big plans for the weekend. My sister got a major promotion this week. Starting tommorow she's the National Assistant Buyer for Women's Designer shoes!! So all those Manolo Blahniks, Via Spigas, Pradas, D&Gs, etc are all apart of what she gets to work with. Oh and just a nice bonus is that she gets to travel to Milan, Paris, and New York Fashion Week!! I'm so proud of her. I told her she has to hook me up with some sample shoes otherwise we can't be sisters, ha. I finally set some money aside for my future Macbook Pro. So as it stands, I'm like a little more than a 1/3 of the way towards buying it. Hopefully working during the holidays/ birthday money/ Caretaker job/ Parents help reels in the rest very soon because I'm getting a little anxious. I'm shooting to buy it in the first few weeks of winter quarter, but we'll see how that pans out. I know my dad said he would share a little bit of the cost, but I would like to see how much I can save myself before turning to my parents. But anyway, that's it concerning my "boring" life. I put 'boring' in quotes because one of my roomies told me that this morning. Although I shouldn't have taken it to heart, I did and I'm sort of hurt from it. But whatever, I'll deal. | Happy Belated Birthday Miss Alf and Miss Mouse! I had this all written out yesterday, but failed to follow through and actually post it. So here it is. A day late, but the thought still counts, right? So I had an 8 am meeting/R5 training class to go to. I forgot that traffic is brutal now that school started, but luckily I still made it to the class on time. *Nod to Carrie on the new feature for the register on time punches and corrections. That will probably make your job for payroll time a lot easier.*However since I barely made it on time I didn't get my splash of fuel (coffee) for the morning, thus suffering to stay perky. I've been pretty good over the summer about not needing my morning coffee intake to get me going for work, mainly because I get scheduled for later shifts. But I really sucked it up this morning. I stop work for the summer this thursday and won't be coming back until November Half Yearly. In the meantime I will be applying for the Summer '07 internship. I'm still undecided on whether I should apply for the corporate or retail internship. If I do the retail one, I'm pretty sure that they would make me stay in Bellevue and be the intern for my current dept which isn't a bad deal since I'll have the product knowledge, but I'm kind of hoping to try a new dept next year. With the football season in full swing and the weather slowly cooling, I've come to the realization that summer is basically over and school is about to begin. Yes, we start really late. I start my junior year this year, and finally get to focus on my major. What is it you ask? As of right now I'm a Political Communcation major, but I'm trying to convince my advisor to give me a shot to apply for the Journalism program also. Journalism is tied to the Communication dept at our school. So when you apply to be a Comm major there's a separate part of the application that you fill out to apply for the Journalism program also. When I applied to be a Comm major I never considered for a second that I might want to major in journalism. That's because my parents were convinced that I was planning to major in business and, for awhile, I was too. Last year was really the first year where I stopped letting my studies be effected by what other's thought would be in my best interest. I'm now doing what I feel I'm good at and feel passionate about doing. I know that that all sounds very cliche and cheesy, but that's the truth. I've definitely shocked my dad's side of the family because there are 3 of us at the UW right now, and we were all planning on majoring in business. So the relatives kind of get thrown off when I tell them that I've changed programs. But whatever, not their problem if there were a problem about it. Man, I've really dragged this post out way too long! But I haven't updated in awhile, so deal with it. haha. just kidding. Oh btw, I've been inspired to write a 'Life List'. Anywho, my caffeine buzz is fading so I'm bouncing out. Have a good day all! | | |
| My new babies:
(BCBG pumps)
Did I mention that they are amazingly comfortable? Cause they are.
In further news, I sold today about the same amount of shoes as what I made on the first day of the Anniversary Sale. Gotta love back to school.
I finally told my manager that I was going to be leaving until Half Yearly. Probably couldn't have come at a more interesting time because I think my name was going to be put in for a co-assistant manager position. She's thrown hints because she keeps talking about my "awesome floor watching skills" or just giving me out of the ordinary salesperson jobs. I don't want it. Not now at least, though its very flattering. Hopefully that's something I can be given the opportunity to do in like 2 years when I graduate.
So I'm about 2 1/2 weeks away from moving back into my apartment and being a student again, yeepaw to that!

I love NCAA Hoops. (I'm somewhere above one of the a's)
We were also voted as the #8 best student section for basketball in the nation by Sports Illustrated. Of course Duke was number one, but after reading all that they and UNCCH have to go through to get into their games I'm so glad we have our system in place instead. Though I can't say that I'm not jealous that Duke students get into their games for free. Oh well we still get cookies and Romar love.
